February Fun

Well, February isn't over yet, but it did get off to a pretty good start.  On February 2nd Alan and I were able to drive to Bakersfield (1.5 hrs. away from our home) to watch our nephew Ben play basketball.  He plays for the Utah Valley University Wolverines.  Unfortunately, his team lost, but we still had a great time at the game.  Here are some pics:

Alan and I in the stands enjoying the game. Not exactly wearing Wolverine green, but we did the
best that we could to represent fans of the Wolverines.

Video of Ben getting fouled.

If I remember correctly, Ben made the free-throw after the foul in the above video.  This next video is Ben shooting the free-throws after a different foul.  He is very good at free-throws.

Although Ben played real well (high scorer on his team that night) he was playing with
a back injury. I was hoping to see him dunk during the game, but wasn't really expecting it because of his sore back. He also injured his knee while playing, but with quick doctoring,
he was back on the court in a flash.

We didn't get a chance to spend a lot of time with Ben, but we were able to chat for a minute after the game.  I know that he appreciated having family in the stands cheering him on, and it was our pleasure to do so.

On another note, Alan celebrated his 61st birthday on the 12th.  Every year his staff throws a birthday luncheon for him at the office and they always ask me to bring the dessert.  I asked Alan what he wanted.  Usually he asks for cherry cheesecake, but this year he asked for something different -- something I haven't made for a very long time.  It is called "Blood & Guts" and is VERY good.  I don't know who came up with that disgusting name.  I should probably rename it.  Anyway, here is a photo of our delicious dessert:

It is a layered dessert:  Oreo cookies, melted choc. chips, bananas, choc. pudding, whipped cream, cherry pie filling, and then another layer of Oreo cookies.  Delicious!!!

Like Father Like Son

Simply a post illustrating how much a son can be like his father.  I can't be"leaf" how far Milo will go to be like his dad.  "Leaf" it to Kyle to set such a good example.

"Lettuce" all acknowledge that this post was all in good fun!  There, we are covered.
