Paying Respect

When I arrived at the Los Angeles temple at about 4:15 this morning, I noticed that the flag was at half mast. I took this picture before entering because I loved how the full moon, tucked behind the clouds, was positioned right between the flag and the temple spire.

I didn't know why the flag was at half mast, but my suspicion was that maybe President Thomas S. Monson had passed away. My suspicion was verified once I entered and was greeted inside. Pres. Monson was a great man, even a prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ, who loved and served God and mankind unselfishly his entire life. He is loved and revered by millions of people around the world. He will truly be missed.

This is Pres. Monson at age 68. He died yesterday, January 2, 2018 at 10:01 p.m. at the age of 90. I'm sure that as we mourn his loss here, there is a great reunion going on in heaven. I'm so glad that he can be reunited with his sweet companion and beloved wife Frances. He was the 16th President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
