First Eight Weeks

It has been 8 weeks today since Cheryl's family moved into our home. It's been quite the ride so far. I'm still trying to get use to the increase in the noise level, but we certainly enjoy having their family here in our home and being able to see them and interact with them daily.

Lainey is six months old now. It has been fun to watch her learn so many new things since they arrived.  She is always reaching to grab things now and she can roll over like a champ. She can almost sit up by herself and is so good natured. What a joy she is in our lives.

Wesley has captured my heart. She is at such a cute age. Her language abilities are amazing for barely being two years old. She can have her moments where she can have a melt-down if she doesn't get her way, but she's such a sweetheart. She loves to play outside with Kessler now that the weather is getting a bit warmer.

Kessler is growing physically and intellectually at a rapid rate. He is 4 years old and goes to pre-school in South Jordan three times per week. He is learning how to read by sounding out letters. He is all boy and makes most of the noise and mess in the house. He is creative in his play. He LOVES to dress in different costumes during the day. I've never seen a kid who likes to dress up like he does. He also loves to "swim" in our hot tub.

Cheryl and Parker found a home in Alpine on 1/2 acre that they love. Their offer was accepted and they should be able to close escrow by April 2nd. I'm so happy that they found such a great home in such a great location. The house has a nice view of the mountains. They do need to do some remodeling before they move in, so they will still be living with us for a while. Hopefully, they can get everything done and into their home by July 1st.

We love having them in our Ward, even though its temporary. We need more young children. Their whole family has been welcomed with open arms. Kessler gave a talk about prayer in Primary last Sunday. He did a fantastic job. Although there are very few children in the nursery, Wesley loves it. Other young moms in the ward have been very friendly and welcoming with Cheryl, which is nice. Too bad their stint in our ward is so short, but I'm sure they will love their new ward in Alpine. Gayle's best friend from her mission lives just a few doors to the East of Cheryl's new home. I'm sure they will be welcomed heartily in their new ward once they move in.
