Behind The Times

Well, I think we are the last people in America to do this, but we finally upgraded to an HDTV. After researching for days, we finally picked a 55" Sony, which is 3D capable, but we don't have everything you need to view in 3D yet, including the glasses. We also need surround sound....maybe some day!

Along with the old television, we got rid of our 1980's furniture too! Yay, I'm so happy to get rid of the old oak furniture. Pictured below is the entertainment center, two chairs, and new tv on one wall. Oh, and it shows the cocktail table too.

This is a photo of the new reclining love seat and couch, along with the area rug and the same cocktail table. I still need to get a new lamp, but haven't even looked for one yet.

Alan and I are both HDTV fans now. Why did we wait so long?

Been there, done that!

Well, three weeks ago I was shocked when our new Bishop came to our home on a Sunday evening to issue me a new calling. He called me to be the YW Pres. for our ward, replacing his wife. Sometimes I see these things coming, but not this time. I was totally blindsided. Of course I accepted the calling, but I've been wondering why the Lord would want someone old enough to be these YW's grandmother in there. I haven't come up with a good answer for that yet. At least my two counselors are young. Although I have been the YW Pres. on the ward and stake level before and have been a counselor in many presidencies on both levels, I'm happy to be able to serve the Lord in that capacity again. We have a very small group of YW, which will make things a little bit difficult, but we will deal with it the best we can. I love the YW organization and know that it truly has power to shape lives and to change lives.
