We have two peach trees and this year we had an abundant harvest from both trees.
Although we thinned out our peaches, this tree was so laden with fruit that Alan had to pick many of them prematurely to prevent some limbs from breaking.
The peaches have been big and beautiful and delicious.
We have more than we can use, so we have been blessed to give many of them away to family and friends. Everyone mentions how delicious they are. One said it was like eating candy.
We have been able to can 28 jars to use throughout the year. Peaches are my favorite fruit, so I'm sure looking forward to busting open a jar now and then this winter.
We would can more jars, but the rest are not ripe enough yet, plus we won't be around to do so because we leave for California in 3 days to welcome Grandchild #8 into the family. She will be born by c-section on Friday, September 22nd. This will be Cheryl and Parker's third child. Adding grandchildren to our family tree is a very special blessing. This new baby will be the best thing we could harvest this fall - much better than peaches.
