Attributes of Christ

Earlier this year (in February), our Stake encouraged each member to come to know the Savior better through service, prayer, and scripture study as illustrated here.

They also had us study a different attribute of Christ each month for 9 consecutive months. They gave out these cards to every family to follow and study the attributes together by reading the assigned scriptures as a family.

Then, for the Relief Society and Priesthood lessons on the 2nd week of each month, the teacher was supposed to teach about that attribute and tie it in with a Conference talk that the Stake assigned. Since I teach R.S. on the 2nd week of the month, it fell on me to do this.

Before my first lesson, the Relief Society President asked if I could create a poster to use that would display the attributes each month. This is what I came up with (showing the first two months):

I have really enjoyed teaching the attributes of Christ because it has helped draw me closer to Him and I have gained a better understanding of who He is. I had a sub teach 3 of my attributes because I was on vacation, but at least I was able to do most of the attributes myself.

Here is a picture after the final class, which was actually taught by the 3rd week teacher, Sister Richmond.

I'm kind of sad to see this program come to an end. Change is a constant part of life, however. I recognize that all good things must come to an end. Therefore, I will simply look forward to whatever growth opportunities lie ahead for me. Life is good!
