Grandma's Visitors

Kyle's family came to California last week for a vacation. They first went to Ladera Ranch to spend a couple of days at the beach with Cheryl. Then they headed up here to Lancaster to spend three days with us. We were able to fit in a lot of fun activities.

The first activity was swimming in our pool. Kyle has a pool at their house, so swimming isn't that special, but Milo and Clara couldn't wait to use our diving board -- something they don't have. Surprisingly, both kids dove off the diving board even though they had never done that before. Clara had never done any kind of dive before and I think Milo had dived only a handful of times. Normally, kids learn to dive off the side of the pool first, but not Clara. She bravely dove without even hesitating. Same with Milo! I was so proud of them!

Even Kyle got in the act and did a fancy backward dive.

The next activity took place at Apollo Park, which I call "Antelope Valley's Hidden Oasis in the Desert." It is such a nice place to relax and enjoy nature. While the kids rode their scooters, Kyle & Emily rode our beach cruisers. Alan patiently walked with me while I rode on my electric scooter.

Both Milo and Clara took a turn driving my scooter while sitting on my lap. I think they really enjoyed it!

After our time at the park, we ate lunch at Jack In The Box and then looked at some RV's in Lancaster. No, we weren't seriously looking, just dreaming mostly.

The winner (in my book) was this 2019 Winnebago.

Just dreaming at this point...but you never know!
